Two Kinds of Truth

Discover the Power of Belief and Faith in God’s Word

In a world where we rely heavily on our senses, it’s easy to become confused about what is true and what isn’t. However, as believers, we must learn to differentiate between two kinds of truth: the truth that comes through our senses and the truth that comes from God’s Word. In this blog post, we will explore the importance of embracing spiritual truth and how it can transform our lives.

Sensory Truth vs. Spiritual Truth

In John 17:17, Jesus prays to the Father and says, “…thy word is truth.” This highlights the distinction between the truth that comes through our senses and the truth revealed in God’s Word. While it’s important to trust our instincts, we must also ensure that our beliefs don’t directly contradict the Bible. Living in the natural world, it can be challenging to abandon our trust in the lies of the world and put our faith in the truth revealed in God’s Word.

The Power of Faith and Belief

Many people who lack a biblical education often seek for someone to “pray the prayer of faith” with them, hoping for a miracle. While mass healing gatherings can provide momentary relief, the ultimate lack of belief will nullify the effectiveness of that prayer. To sustain their recovery, individuals need to continue consuming God’s Word and cultivate a deep, personal faith in Jesus as their healer.

Taking Action and Trusting in God’s Promises

The Bible teaches us that every triumph has both a human and a divine component. God may promise us great things, like when He promised Canaan to the Israelites, but we must also take action and “grab” those blessings (Deuteronomy 11:24). Believing in Jesus means accepting Him as the Scriptures describe Him, and taking action based on that belief.

Believing as an Act of Will

Faith is demonstrated through responding to God’s revelation in Scripture, and choosing to act on it. Doubt, on the other hand, is the rejection of what the Word says. We can choose to believe in two types of truth: natural, human truth, or truth revealed in God’s Word, which is sometimes referred to as spiritual truth or revelation truth.

Embracing God’s Word as Ultimate Truth

God’s Word is just as true today as it was yesterday, and it remains true whether we are healthy or sick. By putting our faith in the spiritual truth revealed in the Bible, we can experience healing and transformation in our lives. So when faced with challenges, a person who has faith in God’s Word can confidently declare, “I am healed by His stripes!” (Isaiah 53:5).

Conclusion: Choosing Spiritual Truth Over Sensory Truth

In a world that often blurs the lines between truth and falsehood, it’s crucial to embrace the spiritual truth found in God’s Word. By doing so, we can transform our lives, overcome challenges, and experience the power of faith and belief. Choose to trust in God’s promises and act on them, and watch your faith grow stronger every day.
